This 2 hour cruise will transverse all of Lake Freeman while you take in the views from all 3 of the decks on the vessel! You’ll enjoy live entertainment while you dine. This is one of the most unique experiences the state of Indiana has to offer. Dinner and Brunch Cruises are designed for adults. We highly suggest leaving the kids at home for these events as they are not conducive to children.

Chantz and Kylie Ledyard are the owners and operators of Oak and Barrel, located in Monticello IN. Chantz is originally from Monon IN and grew up in a farming family. He began his cooking career in Monticello IN, working for Dan Sublette, formerly of Sublette’s Ribs. This is the same restaurant that is now Oak and Barrel. Continuing his career in culinary arts, Chantz received his bachelor’s degree at Sullivan University in Louisville Ky. He worked for eight years in Europe, as well as California, and South Carolina, honing his craft. Chantz then decided it was time to return to Indiana and worked for George Pesek in South Bend at Corndance Tavern in Mishawaka. During his tenure at the restaurant Chef Pesek, taught him what true Farm to Table was, he also was taught butchery and charcuterie.
He met his wife Kylie, at Corndance Tavern. Kylie is originally from New Carlisle IN, and has a background in food service management, and event planning. The two together, decided with a family history in farming that Monticello would be the perfect place to open their restaurant; based around the idea of the local farmer being the star, and highlighting seasonal products that were local. Thus, the concept of Oak and Barrel was formed. The restaurant continues to this day creating contemporary modern midwestern cuisine to highlight the Indiana farmer.
LIVE ENTERTAINMENT
This cruise includes live entertainment while you dine from Malachi Jaggers. Malachi creates music that is authentic and vulnerable, which creates a truly unique sound that draws fans from everywhere.
With musical influences including The Beatles, Bob Dylan, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Neil Young, Tom Petty, Vince Gill, Keith Urban, and more, Malachi perfectly blends a nostalgic feel with a modern-day vibe. He is clearly becoming the next Americana artist to watch.
Regarding Inclement Weather:
The Madam Carroll cruises rain or shine. However, it is the sole discretion of this vessels captain and ownership to determine if inclement weather could create hazardous conditions in which case the ship will remain at dock and this event will continue as scheduled.
Regarding Lake Levels:
After nearly 100 years of keeping Lake Freeman and Lake Schafer level, the US Fish and Wildlife Department intervened and mandated that the water flow leaving the Oakdale Dam be maintained to a specific cubic foot per second to protect an endangered mussel species below the dam on the river. In times of drought, the water levels in Lake Freeman are dropped to maintain constant river flows below the dam. In this event, it becomes unsafe for the vessel to cruise. If this is the case, the ship will remain at dock and this event will continue as scheduled.
